Luxury Living on Spain’s Costa del Sol
Luxury Villas in Spain
For those looking for a lifestyle in the sun in their own luxury villa, Spain has some fabulous locations on offer. Two are the Costa del Sol’s Golden Mile and New Golden Mile, both popular locations with a range of luxury properties.
The Golden Mile
The original Golden Mile, between Marbella centre and Puerto Banús is a stretch of highly desirable real estate on the coast. It acquired its name due to the quality of its amenities, and beauty of its beachfront setting.
The Golden Mile sets the standard for quality and refinement – and it sets it high. The private streets and urbanisations provide residents with space, privacy, security and yet only ten minutes from the centre of Marbella and the best beaches, schools, golf courses, restaurants, shops and spas.
Extending from beachfront locations to inland locations bordering top-class golf courses and in the foothills of La Concha Mountain, the Golden Mile offers a range of settings and views, as well as property types.
Puente Romano is a fine example of the high-class resorts and urbanisations on this stretch of the coast. A mecca for the international jet-set, and with exceptional facilities including beach club, spas and landscaped gardens, the frontline beach apartments are a perfect example of a Golden Mile luxury property.
Spain is easy to reach, and Marbella’s Golden Mile is no exception. Only 30 minutes’ drive from Malaga International Airport, the luxury villas, apartments and mansions are the ultimate address to have.
The New Golden Mile
However, the New Golden Mile is the latest luxury lifestyle destination with properties to rival those on the original Golden Mile.
The New Golden Mile is the coastal area between San Pedro Alcántara and Estepona, and has many outstanding features including incredible views from each luxury property. Spain looks across the Mediterranean to Gibraltar and North Africa, providing those stunning views for the luxury properties.
For golf lovers, the New Golden Mile has some of the coast’s leading courses, including El Paraíso, Los Flamingos, Atalaya and La Resina, with Monte Mayor and Guadalmina nearby. The nearby Sierra Bermeja mountains are ideal for hiking, mountain biking and horse riding. If you own horses, there are plenty of superb stables and schools in the area if you don’t opt for stables on your property. The countryside allows for sustainable living if this is something you are looking for.
As with the Golden Mile, this stretch of coastline has fantastic amenities for those who chose to live here all year. These include the Hospiten private hospital, schools, sports and leisure facilities, fine dining restaurants and spas.
The beauty of the New Golden Mile is enhanced by the lack of high rise blocks close to the seafront, and a focus on individual properties. This forward-thinking allows for luxury properties to enjoy privacy as well as the views. Most of the beachfront urbanisations are gated with swimming pools, landscaped gardens, on-site restaurant, direct access to the beach, and of course those amazing sea views.
Around the golf courses the residential areas offer an exclusive experience, often with access to the courses’ facilities in addition to the modern amenities of Estepona town. All within a 15 minutes’ drive to Puerto Banús and Marbella.
If you’re looking for a luxury villa, Spain’s two most exclusive residential areas must surely be the premier choice. See some fantastic luxury villas here.
